Gatherings

Some things can only be learned in the company of others. These are spaces to slow down, listen deeply and practise connection, with yourself first.

Itsukant

A Retreat for Reflection, Renewal and Connection

In the flow of school life, teachers give generously of themselves every day. Itsukant is an invitation to pause, reconnect and renew.

The name emerged during a first conversation with teachers. Two beautiful ideas were offered: Ekant, representing sacred solitude and inner stillness, and Itsuki, symbolising a deeply rooted tree, groundedness, resilience and interconnectedness. Together they gave birth to Itsukant: being deeply rooted in ourselves while growing in connection with one another.

Rather than a training programme, Itsukant is an experiential journey. Through reflection, silence, nature, creativity, playfulness, mindful movement and meaningful conversation, participants are invited to slow down, rediscover their inner vitality and strengthen authentic relationships within their school community.

The banyan tree is the retreat’s guiding metaphor. Its deep roots symbolise self-awareness and stillness, while its ever-growing branches and aerial roots reflect the interconnectedness of a thriving community.

The quality of education is deeply influenced by the quality of the educator’s inner life.

We retreat not to withdraw from relationship, but to meet ourselves more deeply, so that we can meet one another, and the children we serve, with greater presence, compassion and aliveness.

Itsukant runs over three days and is offered to schools and educator communities. Caring for those who nurture children is one of the most meaningful investments a school can make.

Rooted in Self. Growing in Connection.
