For me, connection is not something we master, but something we keep practising.
I see my journey as an ongoing exploration of what it means to be human: how we understand ourselves, how we relate to one another, and how we might live with greater awareness, compassion and connection.
My inquiry into self-discovery began long before I found Nonviolent Communication. For many years I studied yoga philosophy, particularly the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, in the lineage of Sri TKV Desikachar.
Then, in 2014, I encountered NVC.
Meeting NVC felt like looking at the same landscape through two different windows. The insights I had been exploring through yoga suddenly found an accessible, practical framework.
That meeting point has shaped everything I do since, as a facilitator and as an author.
My books, The Yoga of Connection, The Wobbly Art of Being Human and Spiritual Heart of Nonviolent Communication, explore the connections between ancient wisdom, self-discovery and compassionate living. Not Enough Pain carries the same questions to a wider audience.
Over the years I have facilitated NVC learning spaces, practice groups and workshops. In 2017 I co-founded NVC Connect, helping build a community of shared learning and a series of freely available interviews with NVC trainers from around the world. In 2026 I became a CNVC Certified Trainer.
Alongside NVC, I bring more than 25 years of business and organisational experience, and a long commitment to community service.
In NVC, the giraffe stands for compassionate communication: the land animal with the largest heart, and a long neck for seeing further. Meeting real ones, up close, felt like meeting old friends.
I continue to explore, write, teach and learn, guided by a simple curiosity:
Join a retreat, read one of the books, or simply write and say hello.
